Frequently Asked Questions

How do you ensure your online classes are carried out effectively?

My extensive experience teaching online has convinced me that online sessions aid students not just academically, but also socially. Students who are more engaged in their learning are more focused throughout class . This not only  improves their academic but also social-emotional results. The online platform is an effective tool for teachers to reach out to students of varying dispositions and abilities.

Our lessons follow the exact lesson plan. Students online have to participate and type their responses to questions and keep their webcam on throughout the duration of the lesson.

What do you teach in class?

Our curriculum follows the most up-to-date MOE Syllabus to help students prepare for their Cambridge GCE examinations. Lessons will cover the essential concepts of proper grammar, sentence construction, and broad societal topics upon which students will practise their language skills.

What is your average class size?

Our online class is capped at a maximum of 5 - 8 students. For us, we believe this group size ensures that each student has sufficient time to seek feedback and share their responses with one another. Peer-learning can take place through group work through activities to encourage reflection and improvement.

How long is each lesson duration?

Each lesson will last 1 hour 30 mins.

What preparation is needed for your online classes?

  1. Download the Zoom application for free.

  2. Lesson worksheets in .pdf format will be e-mailed to students (at least 1 day before).

  3. Writing materials (i.e. pens (different colours), highlighters (different colours), foolscap)*

  4. Functional webcam and microphone ^

Highly recommended but not compulsory:

  • Print the worksheets – much easier for your child to take notes.

  • Have a webcam turned on for the duration of the lesson – easier for me to monitor your child’s progress.

  • Have a functional microphone – increases interaction and engagement.

* Students should prepare stationery beforehand and put away any distractions.

Yes, you may opt to let your child attend a one-off trial lesson for $80.

Can students attend replacement lessons?
